Most of the time I feel my work creates itself; it is that classic out-of-body experience I know a lot of other artists relate to. It is me, but it is also in possession of me. I go back in the twilight afterward and evaluate, smooth or rough its edges, and commit to using pop music as a platform for something more.

It is not pretentious to feel and create. So much of my life has been defined and aided by art, music specifically, that I am honored to give my best attempt, and I am honored that you listen.

There’s something about the summer air that is really weird to me.

The fact that it’s cold but never freezing. It feels still, almost. Like you can hear something you never would usually hear if you focused hard enough. I guess it’s mainly because the area that I live in is comprised of mostly commercial businesses, so anytime between 9 pm and 6 am is nothing but dead silence. That, and this Spotify playlist is bringing back too many memories at once.

I don’t think I’ll be getting much sleep tonight. But, I hope you all do.
