Movies seen in 2012 - #17: Wendy and Lucy (2008)
Oh man, did this pull at my heartstrings. Michelle Williams does an excellent job at playing Wendy Carroll, and the film as a whole creates a very bleak (but very honest) situation that the character is put into. I love quiet films like these. Not enough people watch them, and it’s certainly upsetting that not enough people have the patience for a film like this.
Favorite scene: Wendy gets caught by the grocer

I love this film and I adore director Kelly Reichardt. She understands subtlety and how to say more with less. Check out “Meek’s Cutoff,” my favorite film of last year.
