Well, 2011 is really ending.
Despite getting screwed over several times by several people I thought I could trust this year, I’m still here, and I’m content with where I am in life. Change never hit so hard, but I managed to pull through. Well, at least I like to think that I have.
And if you’re reading this, it looks like you’ve been able to survive another year as...

Dead Space 2
Visceral Games managed to up the ante in Issac Clarke’s return to the virtual screen, and made one of the most deeply engrossing (and emotionally taxing) horror games in recent years.
Portal 2
Valve took the franchise to new heights with the sequel, and proved (once again) that great video games don’t need bloody violence, aliens, or swearing to make themselves great....

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed the weird patterns in Mira Mesa people these days? It’s like there is a weird trend to have a baby or something. Like, it’s cool or something? I am not trying to put myself above anyone or anyone’s beliefs. I just can’t help but be sociologically mindful and there is some sort of Mira Mesa mentality that I feel is really limiting people. No...

I don’t have any enemies. I just have people who are no longer in my life. I no longer have a relationship with them. They no longer have a purpose or their reason for being in my life has passed.

My horror short starts shooting in about a week.
I’m not going to deny the fact that the pressure is definitely rising as the days are counted down. But I know that things will work out. I’ve been able to assemble a great team, and I’m definitely more confident about this project than anything else I’ve done. This project wouldn’t be where it is now if it...

I do not know what I’ll do if I read one more complain about stories that show female characters having weaknesses and being victims as misogynistic.
Guess what: women ain’t perfect.
3 words to live by. Get them through your head.
Feminism in fictions should work against the act of marginalizing female figures by turning them into caricatures of real women (plot devices,...

Indy Film Distribution: How to make it work. →
mrgregfrancis:
Ed Burns takes you behind the scenes of his new film. I saw Newlyweds - and its really fun. $9k in production - 100K in post. Better than a lot of films I saw this year. He just kept saying - get a camera and shoot. He did everything on a 5D with a 3 man crew - no location permits and no lights.
Make. Your. Movie.
